Since the hard gum launched, one request has come back more than any other: mastic. Pure resin tears from the island of Chios, chewed as they come. We are making a Heritage Edition of it, and the first batch is small. Put your name down and you hear first.

The resin of the mastic tree, harvested on Chios for more than two thousand years. Dried into tears. Chewed hard, as it comes. The oldest chew still in use, and the one people kept asking us for.
01 · Chios
One island.
The mastic tree grows around the Mediterranean, but its resin is only harvested as tears on the south of Chios, where the local variety and the dry summers set the standard. The origin is protected.
02 · Tears
Cut, wept, dried.
The bark is scored in summer. The resin weeps out, sets in the sun into hard, pale tears, and is cleaned and sorted by size, by hand.
03 · Masticate
The word itself.
The Greek for gnashing the teeth gave mastic its name, and gave our language the verb to chew. Mastic was the chew before gum existed.
04 · Medium tears
Sorted for the chew.
The largest tears are prized for the table. Medium tears are the size that chews well, and that is what the tin holds: 20 g of them, nothing added.

When does it launch?
When the first batch is in the tin and checked. The waitlist hears first, by email, with early access. We do not put a date on this page until it is certain.
What is in the tin?
Mastic tears, nothing else. 100% natural resin, sugar free, 20 g per tin, medium tears sorted for the chew.
Where does it come from?
The south of Chios, Greece, the only place mastic tears are harvested at scale. The origin is protected, and we say so on the lid.
Is mastic like the ONEJAW hard gum?
No, and it is not meant to replace it. Mastic is a natural resin: it starts as brittle tears and gathers into one hard mass as you chew, and no two pieces are quite the same. The hard gum is engineered to hold one resistance; mastic is the original chew, as nature makes it. When the batch is in, the resistance bench publishes its numbers.
Does joining commit me to anything?
No. One email when the tin is ready, early access for the people on the list, no charge and no automatic order.
Can I chew something hard in the meantime?
Yes. The hard gum is on sale now, in two editions, and the routine is the same one the mastic will join: a piece for 30 minutes, three times a day, ideally after meals, symmetric chewing recommended.
